"Taylored" by God - Winter Olympics 2018
The Olympics in South Korea are upon us! It's going to be an amazing couple of weeks of competition and spectacle, as the greatest athletes from around the world come together to share their gifts with the world.
I'm always fascinated by the stories of the Olympics. You won't ever find an Olympic athlete that has had it easy. There are always thousands of hours of training, sacrifice, and pain to achieve their Olympic dream.
One amazing couple I recently read a story about are Elana Meyers Taylor and Nic Taylor - a husband and wife who both compete and train in the bobsled.
I would HIGHLY (does the all capitals make a point?) recommend reading this article in the FCA Magazine about the couple - http://www.fca.org/magazine-story/2018/01/03/taylor-made
Nic and Taylor both gave their lives to God, to each other, and to their sport. Elana is a two-time Olympian already, with a bronze in 2010 and silver in 2014. Taylor is an alternate on the 4-man bobsled team, and has had a stellar international career to date. Both are African Americans in a sport that does not have many participants that are minorities.
One of the most inspirational aspects of their relationship is how Nic serves Taylor as her coach. Nic has been willing over the years to sacrifice his own training to help Taylor train and better her chances of winning. Their pastor calls it a "perfect picture of a husband loving his wife like Christ loved the church."
Taylor & Nic, the inTeam will be rooting for you! Thank you for your inspiration to all of us!
